Our Efforts
Explore the events we've hosted, each leaving a lasting imprint on our community and aligning with our mission to alleviate homelessness.
CAPOC - Spring 2024
For our Week 6 service event, BAM members headed over to Friendship Shelter, a non-profit homeless services agency in the local Orange County area, committed to ending homelessness. They offer a variety of programs and services that are grounded in a “housing-first and harm reduction” approach. Through their values and goals, Friendship Shelter works to serve their residents, valuing their individuality and ultimately making a positive difference in their lives. BAM members contributed to their service by cooking up a delicious plate of spaghetti for the residents of Friendship Shelter!
Friendship Shelter - Spring 2024
For the grand finale of the academic year, BAM members headed back to where we started the year, at the Community Action Partnership of OC! With the assistance of many helping hands, BAM contributed to packing numerous boxes destined to support local senior citizens in need!
HUB OC - Spring 2024
Mary's Kitchen - Spring 2024
OC Rescue Mission - Winter 2024
Kicking off the Winter quarter, BAM returned to OC Rescue Mission. This time members made a difference by serving a hot and delicious meal to local residents. Through our efforts, BAM sought to not only alleviate hunger but also uplift spirits and create a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
Blankets for Binky Patrol - Winter 2024
During our Week 4 General Meeting, BAM members came together to craft blankets for Binky Patrol! Binky Patrol is a national, non-profit organization that works to spread warmth and comfort to children and adolescents in need through the distribution of handcrafted blankets. BAM was excited to get involved and join in the mission!
CAPOC - Winter 2024
For our Week 9 service event, BAM members returned to a club favorite, the Community Action Partnership of OC. Alongside many other helping hands, BAM was able to help pack over 1,000 boxes going to help our local senior citizens in need!
HUB OC - Winter 2024
As we approached the middle of the quarter, for our Week 5 service event, BAM members headed back to the OC Hub Resource Center to assist with organizing projects, sorting clothing items, serving food, and distributing health items to local community members in need.
Mary's Kitchen
As the Winter quarter came to an end, BAM members headed over to Mary’s Kitchen, a local volunteer organization whose mission is to “support and enhance the quality of life” of Orange County’s homeless population through providing services, groceries, and other household amenities. This week, BAM members helped to unload trucks bringing in nutritious and fresh food, and organized and prepared them for distribution to community members in need.
Community Action Partnership of OC - Fall 2023
To kick off this school year, BAM members helped to pack food boxes for low-income elderly in collaboration with the Community Action Partnership of OC. Alongside other organizations, BAM was able to successfully pack, a new record, of over 2,000 boxes for our community!
Thomas House Thanksgiving Dinner
In the spirit of the season, BAM joined the Red Cross for their annual Thanksgiving dinner with the Thomas House Shelter! During this event, members from both organizations helped to host a fun-filled Thanksgiving dinner for the shelter residents! Activities included card-making, coloring, games, and so much more. It was an experience filled with fond memories, laughs, and a celebration of giving back!
